The Vietnam investor visa is a category of entry visa that permits foreigners to enter and reside in Vietnam for the purpose of investing in, establishing, or participating in the operation of a business.
What is an Investor Visa?
According to the Law No. 47/2014/QH13 on foreigners’ entry into, exit from, transit through and residence in Vietnam, the Investor (ĐT) visa for Vietnam is a type of visa granted to foreign investors in Vietnam and foreign lawyers practicing in Vietnam.
An Investor Visa is a visa issued to foreign investors or authorized representatives of foreign organizations and enterprises who contribute capital or establish businesses in Vietnam.
The Vietnam Investor Visa is classified under the symbol ĐT, consisting of four sub-types: ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3, and ĐT4. Although these visas are valid from 1–5 years, eligible investors can apply for a Vietnam Temporary Residence Card, which allows a stay of up to 10 years for ĐT1, ĐT2, and ĐT3 holders. Additionally, this visa type permits investors to sponsor their spouses and children to enter Vietnam under a visiting-relative visa (applicable to ĐT1, ĐT2, and ĐT3).
